- In order to judge the diversity in the field of design in a professional manner, the Red Dot Award breaks down into three disciplines of Red Dot Award into:

- Communication Design
- Design Concept
- The award with the "red dot" is a sign that a product is one of the best in design and business.
- The presentation of the red dot design award, the "red dot", is a globally-approved quality certificate for outstanding design
- To Participate we have to register our product first in "Red Dot" portal. We can register as many as products we want.
- All designers and manufacturers, whose products are available on the market, are invited to participate and product must be available for purchase.
- The Red Dot winners receive their well-deserved certificates during the exhibition and the Designers’ Night in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen in Germany.
